Fifth Annual Walk for Animals, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the MSPCA at Nevins Farm, Methuen. Includes contests and prizes, food and music, children’s activities, canine demonstrations and other animal antics, there is something for everyone. Form a team, walk with one’s family and friends, and help raise money to help animals. walkforanimals.com.

Free Concert, 2 p.m. at the Lawrence Public Library, 51 Lawrence St. Michael Rosenbloom, violinist, and Rebecca Plummer, pianist, will perform music by Mozart, Brahms, and Leonard Bernstein. 978-683-8222.

Open Auditions For Nutcracker Ballet, 10 a.m. at the New England Civic Ballet (NECB) studio, 4 Dracut St., Lawrence. Call or go online for age levels and times as well as proper dress attire. Arrive early for the time slot to register and warm-up. All dancers, ages 8 to adult, are invited to audition regardless of one’s dance school affiliation. Rehearsals will mainly be on Sundays, except for the week of production. There is a $15 registration fee but no production fee. Selected dancers will dance in all four performances, Dec. 13, 14 and 15 at the Rogers Center for the Performing Arts on the Merrimack College Campus, North Andover. Nevins Farm Dog Walk, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the Rail Trail section that goes through the Nevins farm property, Methuen. Vendors, food, and activities for the family. Bring the dog and enjoy a walk on the trail. 978-685-3639.

Sports Cards and Red Sox Autograph Show, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Gaythorne K of C Hall, 462 Broadway, Methuen. Includes dealer tables of sports cards and memorabilia for sale. Tommy Harper will sign autographs from 10 a.m. to noon. Admission is $2, $12 for autographs. Call 508-265-4440.
