“Night of Cigars” with the Plaistow Lions Club, 6 p.m. to midnight at Buccos Tavern, 143 Main St., Kingston. Enjoy a bag of cigars and sample various scotches or whiskeys. A steak tip and chicken dinner will be provided by the Chicken Connection. There will be give-a-ways and a silent sports auction. Tickets are $100. Proceeds will go to various Plaistow Lions Club charitable projects including Thanksgiving baskets for those in need during the holidays. Hyla Brook Reading Series, 6:30 p.m. at the Robert Frost Farm, 122 Rockingham Road, Route 28, Derry. Includes readings by Alfred Nicol, this year’s recipient of the Robert Frost Foundation Poetry Award, and Hyla Brook poet, Melissa Juchniewicz. The program will conclude with an Open Mike from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. Free and open to the public. The Hyla Brook Reading Series runs annually from May through September.
