LAWRENCE — The City of Lawrence has completed mailing the 2012 annual city census forms to Lawrence residents. "Confirmation Notice" postcards will be mailed to registered voters from whom the Election Division has yet to receive a completed census form.

If you receive a Confirmation Notice postcard, please complete the information requested and correct any information if necessary. Once completed, sign it and return it to the Election Division. Postage on the return postcard is pre-paid.

If you prefer, you may return the completed Confirmation Notice postcard to Election Division Office in person at the address below.

Returning the Confirmation Notice postcard to the Election Division Office will update and confirm your status as an "active" registered voter.

If you have moved to another city/town, please complete, sign, and return the Confirmation Notice postcard and your name will be removed from the voters' list in the City of Lawrence.

Registered voters for whom the Election Division has not received a 2012 census form or a Confirmation Notice will be designated as an "inactive voter." Voters designated as "inactive voters" remain eligible to vote but should update their voting status as soon as possible.

Any voter can verify and update their voter registration by contacting the Election Division.

The Election Division Office is open every business day from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and is located in City Hall, Basement Floor, 200 Common Street, Lawrence.

State trails workshop June 13

NORTH ANDOVER — The Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation, in partnership with several local trail organizations, is hosting a public workshop Wednesday, June 13 to discuss trails management for Harold Parker and Boxford State Forests.

The workshop will be held 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Stevens Memorial Library, 345 Main St., North Andover.

Workshop speakers include Nancy Merrill (Boxford Trails Association), Dave Rimmer (Essex County Greenbelt Association), Walt Soule (Friends of North Andover Trails), Alan French (Bay Circuit Alliance and Andover Trails Committee), and Frank Lane (North Shore Chapter of the New England Mountain Bike Association).

Cancer survivors invited to luncheon

METHUEN - Holy Family Hospital's Cancer Center is inviting cancer survivors, patients and their families to attend its 5th annual National Cancer Survivor's Day Luncheon Friday, June 1.

The event will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Holy Family Hospital, by the Gazebo located at the Stations of the Cross. In the event of rain, the event will take place in the hospital's auditorium, located on the ground floor. Guests will enjoy a luncheon BBQ and entertainment by the guest DJ.

Lebanese Association to hold banquet

HAVERHILL — The American Lebanese Awareness Association (ALAA) will be celebrating its 29th Annual Scholarship/ Installation of Officers Banquet on Saturday, June 9 at Michael's Function Hall, 12 Alpha St.

MTEL Prep Course Offered at NECC

Aspiring teachers planning on taking the Massachusetts Tests for Educator Licensure (MTEL) held in July can enroll in a 10-hour, four-week prep course offered beginning on June 9 through Northern Essex Community College's Workforce Development and Community Education Department at the Riverwalk, 360 Merrimack St., Lawrence.

The MTEL Prep course is a non-credit course designed to prepare those who plan to take the July 2012 Communication and Literacy Skills Test (CLST), which is the first test required toward licensure as a teacher or educational administrator and for students transferring to four-year colleges to become teachers in the state of Massachusetts.

The MTEL Prep Course provides an overview of the test, an intensive review of the skills assessed by the test, the opportunity to take sample tests, and strategies for test-taking. It will be held on Saturdays from June 9th through June 30th from 9:30 a.m. until noon. The cost is $199, which includes all materials.

PMA giant indoor yard sale

METHUEN — Presentation of Mary Academy Alumni Council will host an indoor yard sale at the Dupre Center, 209 Lawrence St., Saturday, June 16 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The event is open to the public and refreshments will be available. All proceeds will fund PMA student scholarships.

Tables are available to rent for $25 (tables will be provided by PMA).
