27th Annual Bobby Bell 5-Mile Road Race/Walk, at the Lasting Room Grille, 122 Washington St., Haverhill. The walk begins at 10:30 a.m. followed by the race at 11 a.m. Fee is $25 for pre-entry and $30 post entry. Free T-shirts to the first 70 walker entries and first 260 runner entries. Numerous awards in various age, weight, and specialty categories. Gender graded scoring. A huge buffet will follow along with a DJ, and raffle prizes. The event benefits two local scholarships, the Haverhill Police Auxiliaries, Haverhill’s Brightside and the Andover Striders. “Tip Your Bartender” a fundraiser for Bobby Riordan, 4 to 10 p.m. at Dylan’s Bar and Grill, 18 Park St., Andover. Mr. Riordan will be undergoing surgery for the treatment of his cancer and will be out of work for 10 weeks. “Tips” at the door will be a minimum of $10, all going directly to Mr. Riordan.

Author talk, 10 a.m. at Temple Emanu-El, 514 Main St., Haverhill. Stuart Tower will discuss his latest book, “Branko.” Breakfast will begin at 9:30 a.m. Admission and breakfast are free. The program is open to all. Call 978-373-3861 or email nancy@templeemanu-el.org.
