A one-term incumbent and a newcomer to New Hampshire politics are squaring off to represent a one-seat district that touches four towns.
Residents in House District 34, which includes Atkinson, Hampstead, Kingston and Plaistow, will have two choices in next month’s general election: Democrat Harlan Cheney from Atkinson or Republican Jeffrey Oligny from Plaistow.
Oligny, who seeks re-election, moved on from September’s state primary after edging his competition, Republican incumbent Marie Sapienza, by 301 votes.
Cheney ran uncontested in the Democratic primary.
