Six vie for single seat on Londonderry Town Council

LONDONDERRY — There are six candidates for one three-year term on the Londonderry Town Council. All six candidates are newcomers to town politics as incumbent Marty Bove is not seeking re-election.

Age: 59

Occupation: Technical support engineer

Incumbent: No

Elective experience: Six years on Planning Board

What is the single most important issue facing the Londonderry Town Council?

The most important issue facing the Town Council this year will be to hold the line on taxes while maintaining town services for the residents.

Name: Joe Green

Age: 39

Occupation: Division store manager

Incumbent: No

Elective experience: None

What is the single most important issue facing the Londonderry Town Council?

Gov. Lynch's budget cuts affecting town income by $1.4 million, economic development (airport area), financial controls, reduce tax impact whenever possible, preserve historical rural aesthetics.

We need to explore all the issues and make the difficult decisions needed to preserve vital services and ease the tax burden of the residents.
