Article 2: This amendment would add a new article (Article XVI, Small Wind Energy Systems) to accommodate small wind energy systems in appropriate locations, while protecting the public's health, safety and welfare. The proposed ordinance provides a permitting process for small wind energy systems to ensure compliance with limitations on tower height, system setbacks from abutting properties, roads and utilities and limitations on noise generation and visual impacts.
