Twenty Republicans and nine Democrats filed to run for state representative in Rockingham County District 4, which consists of Salem and Windham.
Meanwhile, Democrat Kristi St. Laurent of Windham and Republican Jim Rausch of Derry have filed for the state Senate seat in District 19 to represent Derry and Windham.
State Sen. Robert Letourneau, R-Derry, recently announced he would not seek re-election.
In District 4, all but one incumbent, Anne Priestley, R-Salem, is seeking re-election.
The filing deadline was Friday. The primary is Sept. 14.
All the Democrats will qualify for the general election since there are fewer candidates than posts open — 13.
The election is Nov. 2.

Breton of Windham, Margaret McKee Crisler of Windham, Anthony R. DiFruscia of Windham, Bob Elliott of Salem, Marilinda Garcia of Salem, Mary E. Griffin of Windham, Russell F. Ingram of Salem, Walter Kolodziej of Windham, Mark G. Larochelle of Salem, John J. Manning Jr. of Salem, Donna Mauro of Windham, Charles E. McMahon of Windham, Richard Okerman of Windham, Mark J. Samsel of Windham, John Sytek of Salem and Kevin Waterhouse of Windham.
Democrats in the District 4 primary are Henri V. Azibert of Windham, Neil Fallon of Windham, Matthew A. Groch of Salem, Ann C. Kern of Windham, Jane Lang of Salem, Matthew O'Shaughnessy of Salem, Ellie Rouillard of Windham, Carolyn B. Webber of Windham and Thomas E. Witham of Salem.
Incumbents in District 4 are Bates, Belanger, Bettencourt, Crisler, DiFruscia, Elliott, Garcia, Griffin, Ingram, Kolodziej, McMahon, Priestley and Webber.
