Class Memories
"St. Paul's letter to the Romans inspired the Class of 2009 to 'pursue peace and the building up of one another.' I am pleased that they have taken this challenge to heart! Their unique spirit of cooperation, mutual respect and service to the community exemplified the Xaverian spirit that underlies our mission. This class has truly formed a brotherhood that will last for a lifetime." — Headmaster Albert J. Shannon, Ph.D.
"One thing that has always distinguished the Class of 2009 is our brotherhood on the athletic fields. I remember how proud I felt wearing the Prep colors at the Prep-Everett football game. On the field, I knew the team would give 100% to win the game, and off the field, we had a great fan section of students, especially considering it was an away game on a Monday night. This is not a rare occurrence at St. John's. We believe in our sports teams and we have the greatest fan section in the state. At any one of our numerous sports programs, there will always be devoted fans cheering on the team, even when the score doesn't look good." — Zachary Kline of Beverly
"The Drama Guild, led this year by many seniors, won first place at the state Drama Festival with their unbelievable performance of Richard III. This achievement culminates all of the amazing work of those dedicated to the performing arts." — Dylan Dittrich of Swampscott
"I will remember our commitment to service and leadership, as evidenced by the role our class took in supporting two ministries in Ecuador. With our annual Danvers to Duran overnight walk, we raised funds for Damien House, a hospital which provides housing and medical care for people living with Hansen's disease (also known as leprosy), and Rostro de Cristo, a community volunteer program in Ecuador." — Christopher Fitzpatrick of Stoneham
