Class Memories

  • The Class of 2009's Student Government collaborated with school administrators to host a Pep Rally before the Homecoming Football Game. It is the first time this type of event has been held in many years at Whittier and it was a great success!

  • Whittier's Class of 2009 was the third Whittier class in a row to graduate with a 100 percent pass rate on the English Language Arts and math MCAS tests. They also reached higher scoring levels than previous years in the advanced and proficient categories on both tests.

Class members will attend the following colleges, universities and institutes in the fall:

Massachusetts College of Pharmacy, Massachusetts College of Art & Design, Johnson & Wales University, Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts, Merrimack College, Norwich University, University of Massachusetts, Lowell, University of Massachusetts, Amherst, Bridgewater State, Framingham State, Salem State, Westfield State, Mt. Ida College, Fisher College, Wentworth Institute of Technology, University of Rhode Island, Central Maine University, Pennsylvania State University, Northern Essex Community College, North Shore Community College, Catherine Hinds, UTI and ITT.

  • From Senior Class Advisor Alexis Valhouli: "The Class of 2009 is a respectful group of students who came from 11 different cities and towns and grew together over the past four years at Whittier, during good times and bad, creating a close-knit family. They have all helped each other and have emerged as confident and competent young adults. They exhibit respect, compassion, kindness, and understanding for one another, their school, and faculty. They are all aware of the support they have received from one another and their school. This is demonstrated through their positive rapport with teachers and students as well as their individual successes. They have great potential for success in anything they may choose to pursue whether it is work in their vocational-technical field, college or the military. The Class of 2009 will be missed by everyone here at Whittier.

Congratulations Class of 2009

  • PHOTO SLIDESHOW: NOTRE DAME CRISTO REY GRADUATION

Schools are out for the summer and graduations are completed. The Notre Dame Cristo Rey High School was one of many graduation ceremonies held in June. The Lawrence school, started by the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur ten years ago held its seventh commencement exercises Saturday morning at St. Mary of the Assumption Church. So lets look back at that day in photos. CARL RUSSO PHOTOS.
