GROVELAND — The friends of Veasey Memorial Park will present their eighth annual indoor flea market tomorrow from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the park, 201 Washington St.

Irish fiddler to perform tomorrow
BYFIELD — Irish fiddler and guitarist Patsy Whelan will perform tomorrow at the Byfield Community Arts Center.
Doors open at 7:30 p.m. and admission is $15. The cafe will be serving Guiness as well as other beverages and snacks throughout the evening. The Byfield Community Arts Center is at 7 Central St. and is sponsored in part by Newburyport Bank and Eastern Bank.
Seminar on raising chickens on March 21
The Bradford Grange will present a free seminar on raising back yard chickens March 21 at 7:30 p.m. at Veasey Park, 201 Washington St., Groveland.
John Dodge of Agway will lead the presentation and will answer questions such as what types of structures are needed to raise chickens, what to feed them and how to keep them healthy. Free workshopson chronic pain
Chronic Pain, a free six-week workshop, will be held at Merrimack Valley Hospital on Tuesdays from April 9 to May 14 from 9 to 11 a.m. in the first-floor auditorium, 140 Lincoln Ave.
Participants will learn to control pain, deal with depression, frustration, isolation and poor sleep patterns, how to eat well, begin an exercise program, handle stress, relax, and increase energy levels. Friends of Council on Aging plan social event
GROVELAND — The Friends of the Groveland Council on Aging will hold an evening social in the Central Fire Station meeting room on March 20 at 6:30 p.m.
All members of the public from Groveland and other communities who are interested in the goals of the Friends are invited to attend this free event. Friends’ goals are to raise money for programs and services for Groveland elders and to support the Council on Aging. A special presentation will illustrate the “Joys and Benefits of Volunteering.”

Library plans workshop on Native American crafts
GROVELAND — The Langley-Adams Library will host a workshop on Native American zipper pull crafts for children in grades six to 12 on March 22 at 3:30 p.m.

City Republicans plan breakfast/straw poll
The Haverhill Republican City Committee will hold a breakfast and straw poll on April 20 from 8 to 11 a.m. at Maria’s Family Restaurant, 81 Essex St.
The nonbinding poll, which will cost each voter $10 a ballot, is intended to generate excitement for the upcoming campaign for the Republican U.S. Senate race. All Republican candidates and their teams are invited. Ballots will be counted in public at 11:01 a.m.
