YMCA to name Educator of the Year tomorrow

---- — The Haverhill YMCA will hold its annual Recognition Event and Educator of the Year program tomorrow at 5 p.m. at DiBurros Function Hall. This year’s Educator of the Year nominees are: Suzette DiTonno, Pentucket Lake; Michelle Joubert, Nettle Middle School; Meghan Doyle, Golden Hill; Judy Reilly, Walnut Square; Diane Palmaccio, Silver Hill; Mary Ward, Tilton; Deb Schnappauf, Haverhill Alternative School; Patty Gaudet, Sacred Hearts School and Paula Richards, Northern Essex Community College. This event is sponsored by Haverhill Bank. Tickets are $35 each and benefit the Haverhill YMCA’s Youth and Teen Initiatives. Also being honored for their community support is state Rep. Haverhill Clubhouse Family and Friends Dinner is Nov. 8

The Haverhill Clubhouse will hold its annual Family and Friends Dinner Nov. 8 from 5 to 9 p.m. at 100 Locust St. The meal includes lasagna, garlic bread and salad. Tickets are $2 for Clubhouse members and $5 for family and friends. Tickets will be available at the door. The event includes raffles and crafts. Armenian festival set for Nov. 9

The Armenian Apostolic Church at Hye Pointe will have its Autumnfest 2012 Bazaar Nov. 9 from noon to 8 p.m. and Nov. 10 from noon to 7 p.m. at the church, 110 Main St. Armenian and Middle Eastern dishes will be featured, including shish, losh, chicken kebab and kheyma dinners. The pastry table will offer choereg, paklava, khadayif with nuts and cream and other homemade pastries. There will be raffles for homemade gift baskets, cash and other items. The Country Store will have tourshi, relish, jams, grains and other items. Take-out orders are available by calling 978-372-9227. A special display of Alex and Ani Jewelry sponsored by Nazarian Jewelers will be available.

Landlords Guild meets today

The Haverhill Landlords Guild will meet today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Sons of Italy Victor Emanuel Lodge, 124 Washington St. Topics include the current rental market and sharing ideas and experience. All landlords, property managers or those who might someday like to own income producing property are invited to attend. You do not have to be a member of the Landlords Guild to attend. Council on Aging offers line dancing class

The Council on Aging is offering a new line dancing class on Mondays at 11 a.m. Cost of the class is $5 per person. Instructor Susan Tribble is a seasoned professional and works in many area senior centers. Students will learn new dances and have lots of fun. Church to hold Christmas Bazaar Dec. 1

St. James Parish will hold its Christmas Bazaar Dec. 1 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the St. James School, 415 Primrose St. The bazaar will feature many vendors, crafts, food and a visit by Santa. More information is available 978-372-8537.
