Police seek Groveland man, say he attacked 17-year-old girl

Say he had knife, is considered dangerous

GROVELAND — Police are on the lookout for a local man who they said sexually assaulted a teenage girl at her Weare, N.H., home Tuesday.

Police said Jonathan Maguire, 20, of 13 Pandora Drive, attacked the 17-year-old at her home on Old Town Road in Weare at 9:20 p.m. Tuesday and fled in the victim's 2003 black Jeep Liberty with the New Hampshire license plate 2103374. Maguire was last seen wearing jeans, sneakers and no shirt, police said.

The girl was taken to a local hospital for treatment of undisclosed injuries.

Groveland Deputy Chief Jeffrey Gillen said Maguire should be considered "dangerous and desperate." Police in Weare said Maguire is armed with a knife and has mental health problems.

Gillen said there's no specific information that Maguire was headed back to Groveland, except that he lives here with his parents.

Groveland police are asking anyone with information about Maguire's whereabouts to contact the station at 978-521-1212. Gillen said Maguire is well-know to police.

A warrant has been issued charging Maguire with second-degree assault, simple assault, obstructing the report of a crime, criminal mischief, and attempt to commit sexual assault.
