Buttonwoods Museum hosts author series

Buttonwoods Museum will present women’s history authors in recognition of Women’s History Month.

Various authors will discuss their work on March 7 at 6 p.m. and their books will be available for purchase. Admission is free.

Indoor flea market planned

The Ladies Philoptochos Society Elpis will hold an indoor flea market March 8 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Holy Apostles Greek Orthodox Church, 154 Winter St.

Items available for purchase include furniture, clothing, glassware, books, jewelry, knick-knacks, and other bargains. Greek pastry will be for sale, along with refreshments.

Tables are available for rent and can be reserved by calling 978-374-8887 or 978-373-3311.

The Ladies Philoptochos Society Elpis is a nonprofit organization of the church. Proceeds from this event will support various charities.

Cycle for Shelter Early Bird registration

Emmaus Inc. in Haverhill has announced that Early Bird registration for Cycle for Shelter 2014 is officially open, with a discounted rate of $25.

This year, Emmaus hopes to build upon the success of the 25th annual event that took place on July 28, 2013. Thanks to the efforts of participating cyclists, corporate sponsors and community volunteers last year, Emmaus raised more than $130,000 that will help more than 3,000 homeless adults and children rebuild their lives.

Early Bird Registration fee of $25 is available for a limited time. Enter a team and receive a $5 discount off the registration fee. Book and Film Club to meet Feb. 24

The public library’s new Book and Film Club will meet on Feb. 24 at 7 p.m. in the Milhendler Room.
