Cedric Maxwell to speak at annual Boys/Girls Club celebration

The Boys & Girls Club of Greater Haverhill will hold their annual celebration on Saturday, March 8, at DiBurro’s in Ward Hill. Special guest is Cedric Maxwell, former Boston Celtic great. Cocktail hour and silent auction is from 6 to 7 p.m. Dinner and guest speaker is from 7 to 8 p.m. The program and live auction is from 8 to 9:15 p.m. Tickets are $100 per person or $900 for a table of 10. Premier sponsor is Lowell Five.

St. Patrick’s Day Party for seniors

Tickets are now on sale for the annual Council on Aging Patrick’s Day Party and Taffe award presentation. This event will be held on Friday, March 14, at DiBurro’s in Ward Hill. Doors open at 11 a.m. Tickets are $10 for Haverhill seniors and $15 for others. This year’s award recipient is Russell Chaput of the Disabled American Veterans, Hannah Dustin Chapter 20. Chaput was instrumental in erecting the Korean War Veterans Memorial at GAR Park, and he is dedicated to assisting disabled veterans. Red Sox trip planned

The Council on Aging is offering a new Red Sox trip with Fox Tours to see the Boston Red Sox play the New York Yankees at the new Yankee Stadium on Thursday, April 10. This trip includes the Statue of Liberty cruise and a visit to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island, and a tour of the 9/11 Monument.

Cost is $319 per person double occupancy and $409 for single occupancy and includes one night at the Luxury Homewood Suite Hotel, one dinner, and one breakfast. More information is available from Kathy Bresnahan or Rita LaBella at 978-374-2390.
