ANDOVER — A 22-year old Boxboro woman was injured and issued a court summons after failing to yield to a plow truck in an accident Monday afternoon.
Police received a call regarding an accident at 10 Ballardvale Road, by the intersection of Sunset Rock Road, at 1:53 p.m. Monday afternoon.
The caller told police that the driver of the car involved in the crash was injured. The first officer on the scene reported that she was having trouble breathing from a possible head injury, according to dispatcher notes.
After an investigation, police determined the woman “was struck by a truck that had a plow on it,” Andover Police Commander Charles Heseltine said. “The plow truck had the right of way, she cut in front of him, he was unable to stop and ended up hitting her.”
The injured driver was sent to Lawrence General Hospital, as she was bleeding from the head as a result of the crash, Heseltine said.
After the crash, police also issued a court summons against her for failing to yield at an intersection, according to Heseltine.
The identity of both the Boxboro woman and the driver of the plow truck weren’t available due to the medical nature of the accident, according to Heseltine.
