Listener dog available for readers

HAMPSTEAD — Johnny Claude the Listener Dog will be at the library on Monday from 4 to 5:30 p.m. He is a certified therapy dog who loves to listen to kids read, tell stories, or act out a book.

The program is for reluctant readers of any age. For more information call 329-6411.

Music will warm hearts in Hampstead

HAMPSTEAD — Poet, author, songwriter and balladeer John Perrault will perform at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Hampstead Public Library.

“Ballad to Blues/Burns to Hughes: Poems on the Edge of Song” is free and open to the public.

Refreshments will be available.

SANDOWN — Head to Sandown Library today to see “The Butler.” There are showings at 1 and 5:30 p.m.

Light refreshments will be served at 1 p.m., pizza at 5:30 p.m.

Kids, make friendship bracelets

PLAISTOW — Kids are invited to Plaistow Public Library tomorrow from 6 to 7 p.m. to make friendship bracelets.

Miss Cara will lead participants through the steps. All materials will be provided.

The program is geared for children 9 and older.

Job Fair planned

ValleyWorks Career Center will present a March Madness Job Fair on March 4 at Osgood Landing, 1600 Osgood St., North Andover.

The event is from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 40 or more employers are expected to participate. Job seekers can meet with representatives of a variety of industries, including administration, communication, customer service, education, engineering, finance, health care, insurance, manufacturing and transportation.

Event organizers say first impressions matter, and suggest attendees practice their 30-second introductions, dress neatly and have a clean appearance. Please bring multiple copies of your resumes and come prepared to complete job applications. Membership or pre-registration is not required.

Career Center members are asked to bring their membership information for quicker entrance. ValleyWorks suggests that in preparation for attending this event that you attend one of these workshops: How To Work A Job Fair, Interviewing Techniques, Marketing Your Maturity, Mock Interview, Resume – Basic, Critique, Beyond Basic and The “WOW” Factor.
