The School Board is proposing a renovation and upgrade to address existing facility deficiencies. School district officials will be joined by project partners from Trident Project Advantage Group, Lavallee/Brensinger Architects and Harvey Construction to provide detailed information regarding what is planned and why the project is being proposed now.

Questions from audience members will be taken and answered.

Hearing slated on Newton budget, articles

NEWTON — A public hearing will be held Monday, Jan. 20, on the proposed town budget and warrant articles.

The hearing begins at 7 p.m. at Town Hall. The snow date is Tuesday, Jan. 21, at 7 p.m.

Supervisors of the Checklist meet SALEM — The Supervisors of the Checklist will be in session Tuesday, Jan. 21, from 7 to 8 p.m. at Town Hall.

Residents may register to vote, change or correction their voter information, or switch party affiliations. Anyone who wishes to particiapte in the town deliberative session Feb. 1 or the school deliberative session Feb. 6 must have registered to vote.

To register, residents must be at least 18 and provide photo identification and proof of residency. Naturalized citizens must show a passport or documented citizenship papers.

Residents can also register to vote with the town clerk during regular office hours through Jan. 22. for the town deliberative session and Jan. 27 for the school deliberative session.

The voter checklist is available for viewing at the Kelley Library reference desk and at the town clerk’s office.
