Winter Festival postponed to Jan. 21

HAVERHILL — The Greater Haverhill and Amesbury Chambers of Commerce have postponed their first ever “Family Appreciation Day: Winter Festival.” The event was originally planned for today at the Amesbury Sports Park, but due to the mild weather it has been postponed to Tuesday, Jan. 21, weather permitting.

The event will feature unlimited snow tubing, an open skating rink, magic shows and more, and will start in the afternoon to allow families and school-aged children to participate. The event will continue into the evening to allow for professionals to participate after the work day concludes.

The event will be split into two waves or blocks of time: Afternoon Wave (3:30 to 6:15 p.m.) and Evening Wave (6:15 to 9 p.m.). Tickets are $10 per wave or $18 for both.

Tickets are also available from the Amesbury Chamber of Commerce at www.AmesburyChamber.com, by calling 978-388-3178 or visiting the Chamber’s office at 5 Market Square in Amesbury. Participants should bring their own ice skates to enjoy the open skating rink. Amesbury Sports Park is at 12 S. Hunt Road, Amesbury.

‘TV Diner’ host to judge sweet indulgences event

ANDOVER — Billy Costa, host of “TV Diner” on NECN will judge desserts and appetizers from area restaurants, caterers and bakeries Feb. 1 from 7:30 to 11:30 p.m. at Wyndham Andover Hotel.

There will be appetizer and dessert tasting from On the Bone, Moonstones, Tewksbury Country Club, Cobblestones, Sweet Mimi’s, Sugar Bake Shoppe, Andover Inn, Sandrino’s Catering, Edible Arrangements, Keon’s 105 Bistro, Ragini Indian Bistro, Fuse Bistro, Frederick’s Pastries, Burton’s Grille, Two Chefs are Better than One and Holiday Inn.

The event also features a cash bar, live band, silent and live auction. General admission is $35 in advance and $40 at the door. Reserved seats are $40 in advance only.
