---- — Our Neighbor’s Table Food Pantry in Amesbury will be collecting non-perishable food and other needed items outside area grocery stores on March 22.
The program serves residents of Amesbury, Boxford, Byfield, Georgetown, Groveland, Merrimac, Newbury, Newburyport, Salisbury, South Hampton and West Newbury. Louise Mills Federal Credit Union is coordinating the drive in this area with the help of Whittier Regional High School.
Whittier students will host a food drive at the school next week and the school has also contributed a school bus and driver to be at the following locations where food will be collected on March 22 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.: Market Basket stores in Central Plaza in Haverhill, Route 1, Rowley, and 25 Storey Ave., Newburyport, and at the Stop & Shop on Route 110, Amesbury. Items needed include canned vegetables, soups, tuna, fruit, beef stew, hash, peanut butter, shaving razors, toothbrushes and toothpaste, paper towels and toilet paper.
Free diabetes workshop planned
A free diabetes workshop with free nutritional assessments runs for six weeks on Tuesdays from April 14 to May 19 from 9:30 a.m. to noon at Merrimack Valley Hospital, 140 Lincoln Ave.
Workshops are provided by Elder Services of the Merrimack Valley. Complimentary lunch provided by the hospital. More information is available by calling 978-946-1260.
Learn how to communicate with your doctor
Dr. Tollman of Wingate Haverhill will lead a presentation titled “How to Speak with your Physician” on April 2 at 10 a.m. at the Citizens Center, 10 Welcome St.

Annual Run to the Beach is Sunday
The Andover Striders, in association with the Winners’ Circle Running Club, will hold the annual Run to the Beach 30K, otherwise known as the “Goin Down the Road Feelin Bad” run, on Sunday at 10 a.m.
The race starts at the North Andover VFW and finishes at the Winner’s Circle Sports Bar in Salisbury.
