Fifteen adults and youth from Haverhill will be joined by nearly 30 actors from surrounding towns for five performances of Meredith Willson’s “The Music Man,” to be presented by Spotlight Playhouse.
Performances are June 13, 14, 20 and 21 at 7:30 p.m., and June 22 at 3 p.m. at Haverhill High School, 137 Monument St.
Several teenage boys are needed to round out the cast, especially boys with some dancing skills. Several more men are needed to play travelling salesman in the opening scene. Rehearsals begin on March 23 and will take place on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, in addition to Sunday afternoons.

After May 15, tickets will be $20 for adults and $18 for Spotlight Playhouse members, senior citizens, and children 12 and younger. Spotlight Playhouse is an all-volunteer community theater group that is celebrating its fifth full season of offering live plays, cabarets, youth acting workshops, and musicals in Haverhill. Talk by veterans and military authors is Friday
The Buttonwoods Museum’s Authors Lecture Series will present veterans and military authors on Friday at 6 p.m.

NECC offers a Day in the College Classroom
Northern Essex Community College will host “College for a Day” on April 30 from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on the Haverhill campus at 100 Elliot St.
This event is free and open to the public and is an opportunity for prospective students to see all that Northern Essex has to offer.
Visitors can sit in on a real college class, take a tour of the campus, attend a financial aid session or enjoy Spring Jam - an outdoor spring celebration, said Laurie Dimitrov, director of admissions and recruitment at Northern Essex Community College.
