Job fair for veterans, public is tomorrow

HAVERHILL — ValleyWorks Career Center will host a job fair for all U.S. veterans tomorrow from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Hartleb Technology Center on the Haverhill campus of Northern Essex Community College, 100 Elliott St.

More than 25 employers are expected to participate in this event.

All job seekers are welcome. Veterans will have an opportunity to connect with area employers. Employers would like to speak with veterans about the strong background developed and strengthened in demanding environments and conditions that their civilian counterparts rarely encounter.

Event organizers said first impressions matter, and suggest attendees practice their 30-second introductions, dress neatly and have a clean appearance, bring multiple copies of their resumes, and come prepared to complete job applications. Membership or pre-registration is not required. Career Center members are asked to bring their membership information for quicker entrance.

Parking is available in the municipal parking lot for a nominal fee. The site is accessible by MVRTA bus. For a bus schedule visit www.mvrta.com. Watch for updated employer listing and event details at www.valleyworks.cc. Employers interested in participating in this event are asked to call 978-722-7000.
