Seminar on Cancer Care is Tuesday
The History of Cancer Treatment and Early Stage Breast Cancer, a medical Meet the Expert seminar with Han-Ting Lin, MD and Ankur Mehta, MD, Holy Family Hospital Cancer Center’s expert Medical Oncologists, is March 5, from 6 to 7 p.m. in Merrimack Valley Hospital’s first-floor auditorium. Attendees will learn how cancer treatment has evolved, the overall trend in cancer treatment, what the future holds for cancer care, and how early stage breast cancer is detected and treated. Registration is required. Light refreshments will be served. One contact hour in nursing awarded at the end of the presentation. Diabetes education offered
Home Health VNA would like to offer diabetes education in the community. A certified diabetes educator will provide education services to those diagnosed with diabetes. This program would be provided in groups, but each person would receive one individual session. All sessions are covered by Medicare. Topics to be discussed include healthly eating, being active, blood sugar monitoring, medications, problem solving and reducing complications. Chronic pain workshop offered
The Council on Aging will host a six-week Chronic Pain Workshop on Tuesdays, from 1 to 3:30 p.m. beginning March 5. Anyone who has been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, Diabetic Neuropathy, Crohn’s Disease, or other illnesses or conditions that include ongoing pain will benefit from this workshop.
