Craft fair is Saturday at Whittier Tech

The Key Club at Whittier Regional Vocational Technical High School will hold its first Craft Fair on Saturday, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the school’s cafeteria.

Items for sale include handcrafted jewelry, tote bags, blankets, scarves, aprons, pillow cases, embroidered items, hats, food and more.

Raffles will be held throughout the day. Suggested admission is $2 or a non-perishable food item. All proceeds benefit Whittier’s Key Club, which makes local charitable donations throughout the year.

Space for crafters is available by calling Rich Porcelli at 978-373-4101, ext. 280. Whittier Tech is located at 115 Amesbury Line Road.

Spaghetti dinner is Saturday

The Hilldale Cemetery Association will hold a spaghetti dinner on Saturday to support building a new Veterans burial ground at the Hilldale cemetery.

The dinner, open to the public, is from 6 to 8 p.m. and will be held at the Advent Christian Church of Haverhill, 160 Carleton St. Cost is $7 per person. Free for children ages 4 and under.

This event was postponed from Feb. 16 due to the weather. The buffet-style meal will include spaghetti and tomato sauce, meatballs, salad, soda, cookies and a surprise treat.

The association has received in-kind donations of fill to begin the project. The final phase will cost about $3,000, including layout of the graves and seeding of the lawn.

The Association hopes to have the new Veterans lot completed by Memorial Day. More information is available from Thomas Spitalere at 978-376-2807.

Indoor flea market is Saturday

The Ladies Philoptochos Society Elpis will hold an indoor flea market on Saturday at the Holy Apostles Greek Orthodox Church, 154 Winter St. Doors open at 9 a.m and close at 3 p.m.

Items available for purchase include furniture, clothing, glassware, books, jewelry, knick-knacks and other bargains. Greek pastry will be for sale along with refreshments.

Tables are available for rent and can be reserved by calling 978-374-8887 or 978-373-3311. The Ladies Philoptochos Society Elpis is a nonprofit organization of the church. Proceeds from this event support various charities.
