How a tweet can help fight war on poverty

Every time someone tweets #ismWishes with a special holiday wish, an animated Christmas tree lights up at a downtown Boston business and a donation is generated to the Lazarus House Ministries.

Lazarus House Executive Director Bridget Shaheen said this could not come at a better time, when the organization is scrambling to help feed, clothe, and shelter thousands who come through its doors in the Merrimack Valley.

ISM travel, a marketing firm at 420 Boylston St., Boston, came up with the idea.

Shaheen’s daughter Karen works at ISM and the team wanted to find a suitable charity that could benefit from their innovation. The animated display runs every night from 4 to 11 p.m. until Dec. 30. You can view the wishes online at ismtravels.com/wishes.
