A fundraiser for Marsha Donahue, a local bartender who was recently diagnosed with cancer, will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Amvets Hall, 576 Primrose St. The event, titled Rocking Road to Recovery for Marsha Donahue, will feature three bands: Ready or Not, BB Gunz and The Groove, as well as food and raffles. Dontions sought for Local Heroes Inc.
The Haverhill Council on Aging and Veteran’s Services would like to help Haverhill seniors and others to make donations to Local Heroes Inc. by collecting items at the Citizens Center, 10 Welcome St. Local Heroes Inc. is a nonprofit organization working to support our local servicemen, servicewomen and their families. All donations received go directly to these local heroes. Over the last eight-plus years, Local Heroes Inc. has sent out over 15,000 packages to our military across the globe. GOP to hold breakfast/straw poll
The Haverhill Republican City Committee will hold a breakfast and straw poll on Saturday, April 20 from 8 to 11 a.m. at Maria’s Family Restaurant, 81 Essex St. The nonbinding poll, which will cost each voter $10 a ballot, is intended to generate excitement for the upcoming campaign for the Republican U.S. Senate race. All Republican candidates and their teams are invited. Ballots will be counted in public at 11:01 a.m.
Open house to meet new doctors
Merrimack Valley Hospital welcomes the community to an open house for three Steward Medical Group primary care physicians William Ingram, MD, Maysabel Aponte, MD and Jamshed Anvari, MD on Wednesday, April 3. Receptions will be held in their respective offices in Merrimack Medical Center, the medical office building located at 62 Brown St. The building is attached to Merrimack Valley Hospital. Refreshments will be served. Aponte and Anvari’s receptions will be in Suite 200 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., and from 3 to 6 p.m. Ingram’s will be in Suite 303 from 3 to 6 p.m. All three physicians are accepting new patients.
