Holy Family and Merrimack Valley hospital graded A

Holy Family Hospital in Methuen and Merrimack Valley Hospital in Haverhill were awarded “A” grades in the Fall 2013 update to the Hospital Safety Score, which rates how well hospitals protect patients from accidents, errors, injuries and infections. The Hospital Safety Score is compiled under the guidance of the nation’s leading experts on patient safety and is administered by The Leapfrog Group (Leapfrog), an independent industry watchdog.

The first and only hospital safety rating to be analyzed in the peer-reviewed Journal of Patient Safety, the Score is designed to give the public information they can use to protect themselves and their families. Holy Family and Merrimack Valley hospitals are part of the Steward Health Care System.

“Patient safety and a commitment to quality are at the forefront of our efforts and I am extremely proud of the teams at both hospitals for achieving the highest rating,” said Lester Schindel, President of Holy Family Hospital and Merrimack Valley Hospital.

On Saturday, Dec. 7, Santa will be at the Andover/North Andover YMCA , 165 Haverhill St. from 4-6 p.m. for a quiet walk through the woods by candlelight with our homemade lanterns. Welcoming and celebrating the season of joy and giving.
