Annual Intertribal Pow-Wow is this weekend

HAVERHILL — The 23rd Annual Intertribal Pow-Wow will be held tomorrow and Sunday at the Plug Pond recreational area off of Mill Street.

Gates are open to the public from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day. Suggested donation is $5 for adults, $4 for senior citizens and MCNAA members and $3 for children ages 4 to 12. Admission is free for children 3 and younger. Parking is free.

This family event is sponsored by the Massachusetts Center for Native American Awareness and the Haverhill Recreation Department,

A new performer this year is David Sanipass, a native flute maker, flute player and storyteller from the Mi'kmaq Nation.

The cultural awareness event will also feature drumming, dance demonstrations, crafts as well as food items such as buffalo burgers and pow wow tacos.
