The Wingate Street Arts District in Haverhill will launch its sixth annual Friday Night Live (on the patio) concert series tomorrow with a performance from 7 to 9 p.m., by the Haverhill-based band PFM.
Maria's Family Restaurant will grill dinners on the street during the performances. The free series continues on Friday nights through Aug. 14, excluding July 3. Participating bands include Jack Rabbit Slim, Fee Trio, Sleudian Frip, Quarter to Four, Linda Selima, Elle Gallo and Coupe de Ville.
The series is sponsored by Merrimack Valley Hospital, Primary Design Inc., The Cordovan at Haverhill Station, Bank of New England, Haverhill Bank, Peddler's Daughter and Cowan Insurance. Details online at www.wingateartsdistrict.com.
Professional ballet company debuts
The nonprofit Haverhill Center for the Performing Arts, in partnership with Center Stage Dance Academy, will present "Dance Celebration 2009" on Sunday, at 3 p.m., at the Rogers Center for the Arts at Merrimack College in North Andover.
The show will feature a debut performance by the Haverhill Chamber Ballet, a professional ballet company sponsored by the nonprofit American Society of Russian Ballet.
The chamber ballet is associated with the nonprofit Haverhill Center for the Performing Arts, headed by ballet master instructor David Drummond. The center is at 39-41 Lafayette Square, second floor, in Haverhill.
Sunday's show also will feature ballet performances by the center's students, as well as tap, jazz, clogging, swing and African dance performances by students from Center Stage Dance Academy.

Whale watch trip planned for June 24
Bethany Community Services and Haverhill Council on Aging are hosting a whale watch trip sailing out of Gloucester Harbor on June 24.
The bus will leave from Westgate Plaza at 11:30 a.m. Cost is $40 per person and includes transportation, the whale watch, and a bagged lunch, with your choice of ham or tuna sandwich, as well as chips, cookie, fruit, candy bar and bottled water. Bethany Community Services also is planning a trip to the Shubert Theater in Boston to see the musical "Jersey Boys," on Sept. 17. Show time is 2 p.m.

60th class reunion scheduled for Oct. 3
The Haverhill High and Trade schools' classes of 1949 will celebrate their 60-year reunion on Oct. 3, at Roma Restaurant, 29 Middlesex St., Bradford.
The reunion committee has received an excellent response to its request for contributions to the Class of 1949 Book Fund at Haverhill Public Library.
The committee hopes that the contributions made this year will surpass those made in prior years.
