Shouting mars murder arraignments

HAVERHILL — Tension broke out today in Haverhill District today, as friends and relatives of 21-year-old murder victim Luis Rodriguez and the men charged in his death shouted at each other.

Police and court officers ordered those exchanging words to leave the courtroom. More shouting happened outside in the court parking lot, but there were no physical exchanges.

No one was arrested.

The shouting broke out during the arraignments of Everett Leonard, 24, 48 Ayer St., and Jason Ortiz, 19, 454 Washington St., who are charged in the shooting death which police said happened early Saturday morning outside a house party on Washington Street. Both men pleaded not guilty asd were held without bail.
