YMCA floor hockey leagues forming

---- — The Haverhill YMCA is offering a variety of floor hockey programs this year.

The Youth Floor Hockey League will run for 10 weeks and is open to children in grades one to eight. Teams are managed by volunteer coaches. The Pee Wee Floor Hockey League will run for eight weeks and is for children ages 3 to those in kindergarten. Teams are managed by volunteer coaches.

The Women’s 30 and Over Floor Hockey League will run for eight weeks. Register with a team or individually. The season begins Feb. 19 and all games will be played on Sunday evenings. More information is available from Clint Clay at 978-374-0506 or clayc@northshoreymca.org.

Haverhill Girls Softball registrations

The Haverhill Girls Softball League will hold open registrations for girls age 5 to 16 on Jan. 19 and on Feb. 2 and 16 from 9 a.m. to noon at the Elks Lodge on Summer Street. For more information please the league online at www.haverhillgirlssoftball.org.

Haverhill Senior Baseball registration

Haverhill Senior Baseball will hold sign ups for anyone in the Haverhill area on Jan. 19, Feb. 9, and March 2, 9, and 16 from 10 a.m. to noon at the Haverhill YMCA, 81 Winter St.

The league has divisions for players age 13 and players ages 14 to 15. All home games will be played on a regulation 90-foot diamond on the JV field behind Trinity Stadium. Winter party for senior citizens

Northern Essex Community College’s Life Long Learning program will hold a “Beat the Winter Blues’’ party on Jan. 17 at noon in the Hartleb Technology Center on the Haverhill campus.

Lunch and entertainment by Larry Lee Lewis will lift spirits during the winter months. Tickets are $15 and may be purchased at the Citizens Center, 10 Welcome St. More information is available from Kathy Bresnahan or Rita LaBella at 978-374-2390.

Hill View enrollment information sessions

Hill View Montessori Charter Public School will hold Enrollment Information Sessions for prospective parents and caregivers Jan. 17 at 9:30 a.m. and 6 p.m., and Jan. 26 at 10 a.m.

All sessions will be held at the school, located at 75 Foundation Ave. in the Ward Hill Business Park. A public lottery for available seats will be held Feb. 7 at 3:30 p.m. HVM is a public, tuition-free school that offers a public Montessori educational option to the Haverhill community. The school opened in 2004 and has 306 students in kindergarten to grade eight. Social and emotional development, as well as academic excellence, is emphasized in multi-age classrooms where teachers deliver instruction primarily in small groups.
