3 hurt in fight at Haverhill house party

HAVERHILL — Police say two people were stabbed late Friday night and another suffered numerous cuts in a fight that broke out during a house party.

No arrests have been made and police are continuing their investigation.

On Friday at 11:58 p.m., police responded to a disturbance in the area of 528 Hadley West Drive, an apartment complex off Lowell Avenue in the Westgate Plaza area of the city.

When officers arrived, they encountered multiple large groups of people walking in the area. Police Deputy Chief Donald Thompson said police were informed that a fight had broken out at a house party and that two people may have been stabbed.

While police were investigating, the police station was notified that two men had arrived at Merrimack Valley Hospital with multiple stab wounds. The two men were subsequently transported to a Boston hospital for treatment of their injuries, Thompson said.

Police also received a call about a man who was bleeding in the area of 700 Washington St., which is a short distance from Hadley West Drive.

Police said the man had suffered lacerations to his back and that he was transported to Lawrence General Hospital, where he was treated and released.

Names of the victims were not available.
