Students take over school - literally Become principal, teachers for a day

HAVERHILL - Golden Hill Elementary School was in the capable hands of five students on Friday.

The children were chosen to spend most of their day shadowing staff members after their parents donated money to the school during a comedy/auction night the school held in October to raise money for educational materials.

Fourth-grader Nakira Herook was principal for the day, fifth-grader Amanda Roy was music teacher for the day, fourth-grader Hanna Lawler was art teacher for the day, fourth-grader Danny Demarais was custodian for the day and fifth-grader Zach Guselli was physical education teacher for the day.

"We had them shadow us all day; then we all had lunch together," Principal Bonnie Antkowiak said.
