Diabetes workshop planned
The Diabetes Education Department at Pentucket Medical Associates will present a program titled Summer Care For Those With Diabetes on June 23 from noon to 4 p.m. on the fourth floor of Pentucket’s Haverhill office building, at 1 Park Way.
Summer can present particular challenges for those with diabetes, especially in regard to protection of the feet and eyes. Navigating through the temptations of unhealthy foods can be tricky amidst the limited diet options in places like the beach.
“The warm months should be a time for everyone to enjoy life,’’ said Joan Hultgren, a registered dietician with Pentucket Medical and coordinator of the group’s Diabetes Education Department. “This event will give our patients and their loved ones strategies for avoiding the real hazards to the eyes, feet and blood sugar levels while making the most of this beautiful season.’’
