Yard of the Month winner announced
LAWRENCE – Ana Sosa’s neighbors say she not only keeps her yard clean, but often cleans trash from a vacant lot across the street from her home at 1-3 Albion St.
For her dedication, Sosa has been selected for the Yard of the Month Award for June by the office of Daniel Rivera.
“The efforts of Ms. Sosa have been an inspiration to the residents of Lawrence to keep the city clean and show great pride in their property,” Rivera said in a statement. “I applaud her continuous determination to make Lawrence better.”
Sosa has done an excellent job to keep the sidewalks at her home on the corner of Albion and Avon streets clear of trash and litter. “It costs nothing, but a little effort to keep the sidewalk clean and safe for others, which makes our city a better place.” she said.
Her neighbors made a point of mentioning that Sosa often cleans trash from in front of the vacant house on Avon Street, across the street from her home.
