“I held out the food, but it moved farther out on the tree limb, “ Magnifico said.
That’s when Bishop entered the rescue efforts, Magnifico said. She used a net she’d brought, holding it up to the end of the limb to prevent the bird from attempting to move out of reach. Her actions placed the bird between the net and its rescuer.
“I took a chance and grabbed it,” Magnifico said.
The bird was then taken over to Newbury Animal Hospital, where it spent the day,
It’s unclear where the bird came from or who its owner is. But Magnificio is hoping they will soon be reunited.
“It’s banded, so I’m hoping they can find out who the owner is and get the bird back home,” he said.
