Mayor James Fiorentini recently announced the appointment of Attorney Laura Angus to fill the position of Assistant City Clerk after Heather Budrewicz left the position for a job in the western part of the state. Angus will begin her new job on May 5. Fiorentini said there were many qualified applicants with diverse backgrounds and Angus surfaced as the number one choice after careful review and consideration. She has run her own day-care business in Haverhill for the last 10 years.
Angus graduated from the University of New Hampshire and the New England School of Law. She was a practicing attorney for many years overseeing a legal office of 12 lawyers before she entered the childcare field. In her free time, Angus serves on the Board of Directors of the Bradford Swim and Recreation Club. She lives in Haverhill with her husband and three children.
“Attorney Angus displayed a wide range of experience, including management, customer service and legal knowledge,” Fiorentini said. “This position supports the City Clerk.” Fiorentini said Angus will oversee the License Commission, assist with elections and support the rest of the office.
“Attorney Angus is prepared for the challenge,” the mayor said. “Attorney Angus has customer service experience and will serve our residents well.”
