HAVERHILL — A 21-year-old Peabody woman caused extensive damage to her car and a parked one she struck after reaching for her GPS yesterday, according to Haverhill police.
Heather McCarthy lost control of her car, which rolled over on the driver’s side on Summer Street near Moore Street shortly after 11 a.m., police said.
She was charged with a marked lane violation and unsafe operation of a motor vehicle.
Firefighters had to use a hydraulic device to free her from the overturned vehicle. Her passenger was able to crawl out the window. Both people refused medical treatment, police said.
