The Council on Aging will hold a Senior Health and Resource Fair on May 21 from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Citizens Center, 10 Welcome St.
Senior citizens and adult children of seniors will benefit from information presented at this event, including home repairs, making homes handicapped accessible, heating assistance, SNAP (food stamp program), adult day care and other topics. Several health screenings including memory, hearing, vision and blood pressure, will also be available. Cedar’s will provide healthy foods.
The event will feature these presentations by local professionals: Making your Home Safe by Northeast Rehab at 4:30 p.m.; Navigating the Healthcare System with Dr. Dan Tollman at 5 p.m.; and Wills, Living Wills, and Healthcare Proxies with Attorney Joseph Cleary at 5:30 p.m. More information is available from Kathy Bresnahan or Rita LaBella at 978-374-2390.
Annual Wine & Beer Tasting on tap May 22
The Boys & Girls Club of Greater Haverhill will hold its annual Wine & Beer Tasting on May 22 at 6 p.m. at the Haverhill Country Club, 58 Brickett Lane. The event will feature Fantasy Fine Wines & Seaboard Beer Products in conjunction with Great Brewers.
Delicacies will be provided by Maria’s Restaurant, Hannah Foods, Haverhill Country Club and Albie D’s, a second-generation Italian bakery.
Tickets are $40 per person and all proceeds support the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Haverhill summer programming. Last day to register to vote is May 21
May 21 is the last day to register to vote in the June 10 Special Municipal Election for the Hunking School.
The city clerk’s office in City Hall, 4 Summer St., Room 118, will have extended hours that day, opening at 8 a.m. and closing at 8 p.m.
