YWCA Academy of Women nominees announced

YWCA Haverhill will induct 13 area women into the YWCA Academy of Women. They are: Terry Cargan of Haverhill, English professor at Northern Essex Community College; Tonie Del Castillo of Haverhill, web designer and desktop publisher; Tina Fuller of Groveland, after school director for Haverhill public schools; Mercedes Hersom of East Hampstead, N.H., community volunteer for St. Anne’s Parish and other organizations; Marsha Kazarosian of Haverhill, attorney at Kazarosian Costello & O’Donnell, LLP; Lilli Leggio of Hampstead, N.H., communications and admissions director at Esperanza Academy; Mary Murphy of Haverhill, owner of Garrison Golf Center and a community volunteer; Eridania Nieves of Haverhill, business owner and supervisor of the in-school suspension program at Haverhill High School; Carol O’Connell of Haverhill, owner of Skin Serenity Medispa and a community volunteer; Darlene Rembis of Haverhill, administrative officer for the President/CEO of Pentucket Bank; Laura Rossi, RN, MSN, OCN, of Georgetown, director of outpatient clinics at Anna Jacques Hospital; Bridgett Seymour, MD, of Haverhill, gastroenterologist at Steward Merrimack Valley Hospital and Rachel Thompson of Bradford, program director at Emmaus House Inc.

All nominees will be inducted as honorees into the YWCA Academy of Women at a private reception on May 21, and honored publicly at YWCA Haverhill’s 25th annual Tribute to Women Luncheon on May 28 from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at DiBurro’s in Ward Hill. Drawing for flat screen TV

The Council on Aging will hold a free Senior Health and Resource Fair tomorrow from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Citizens Center, 10 Welcome St. Seniors as well as adult children of seniors will benefit from information about home repairs, making homes handicapped accessible, heating assistance, SNAP (food stamp program), adult day care and other topics. The event will include a chance to win a 50-inch flat screen TV, donated by Shoe City Hardware.
