Council on Agingto celebrate July 4th

The Council on Aging will host a Fourth of July celebration on July 3 from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Citizens Center, 10 Welcome St.

George Whitehouse of A Good Times DJ will play music from the 1950s through the ‘70s. Lunch will be provided by Broadway Caterers. Tickets are $8 per person. For tickets or more information, contact Kathy Bresnahan or Rita LaBella at 978-374-2390.

Farmers market returns on June 28

The city’s Farmers Market will return for its 36th season starting June 28 and running through Oct. 25.

This outdoor market is next to the Haverhill Police Station at 40 Bailey Blvd. The market operates from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

“We are excited to welcome back an incredible and diverse group of more than 25 vendors,” said Jeff Grassie, market organizer.

Customers will find farm-fresh fruits and vegetables, baked goods, honey, jams, meats, local wines, artisan cheeses, fresh breads, handmade soaps, doggie treats and other items. The market will also feature an assortment of live music, food demonstrations, and children’s activities each Saturday.

Annual Dolly ‘n’ Me Princess Tea planned

Winnekenni Castle will hold its annual Dolly ‘n’ Me Princess Tea on June 8 at 1 p.m.

This signature castle event is an opportunity for young girls to wear their frilly finest, bring along their favorite doll, and have a special grown-up day. The event will feature fancy finger foods and treats, tea from fancy pots and a visit with the Princess of Winnekenni Castle. A genuine American Girl Doll will be raffled. The event also includes photo opportunities and fun activities. Doll clothes and other favorite items will be available for purchase. This event is recommended for children ages 3 and up. With advance online purchase, tickets are $20 per child and $25 per adult. If space is available, tickets at the door are $25 per child and $30 per adult. Seating will be limited.
