Haverhill enforces winter parking rules tonight

HAVERHILL — The city will begin enforcing winter parking rules today at 6 p.m., Mayor James Fiorentini said.

“Please make certain that if your vehicle is left on the street, that you park on the even-numbered side of the street in the month of December,” the mayor said in his community newsletter. “We do not want to give out a single ticket, so please make certain your car is on the even side throughout the month of December.”

Starting Jan. 1, parking is allowed on the odd-numbered side of the street only, and it alternates back and forth each month until the winter rules end April 1.

Violators face $25 fine and up to $125 if their vehicle is towed.
