Christmas giveaway is Dec. 14

Families in financial distress are invited to a free Christmas give-a-way Friday, Dec. 14 at the Citizens Center, 10 Welcome St. Doors open at 4 p.m. Registration is not required. Personal care items, housewares and gift and food items are being provided through a grant from Walmart, which is also providing a tractor trailer truck for this distribution. This event is hosted by Somebody Cares New England in collaboration with Common Ground Ministry and Zion Bible College.

Citizen Planner Training Program begins in January

The Merrimack Valley Planning Commission will sponsor the “Citizen Planner Training Program” again next year. The first session will be held on Monday, Jan. 7, at the MVPC offices in Haverhill. The next two sessions will be held on Monday, Feb. 4 and Monday, March 4 and the fourth session will be scheduled in coordination with the Citizen Training Planning Collaborative at a later date. All sessions will be held at the MVPC offices and will start at 7 p.m. There is a $100 per participant fee, which can be billed to your community accordingly. Christmas party in Windham

WINDHAM — Coco, Early & Associates is hosting its 10th annual Christmas Party for local children tomorrow, with almost 700 guests expected from the Merrimack Valley and Southern New Hampshire.

The event is at Windham High School from 1 to 3 p.m., with gifts, caroling and a visit from Santa.
