HAVERHILL — Winnekenni Castle’s next Tots-n-Tykes Tuesday event is July 9 from 10 a.m. to noon. The program’s theme is “Viva La Carnival!” and is recommended for ages 2 and up. The cost is $8 per child.

Teachers from Little Sprouts & Imajine That will guide children through educational and creative workshops designed to stimulate little minds. The activities will change each week and will be based on a specific theme of the week.

Geocaching event is just for middle-schoolers
HAMPSTEAD — Hampstead Public Library is holding a geocaching event for students who will be entering middle school on Wednesday at 2 p.m.
Geocaching is an outdoor recreational activity in which the participants use a GPS or mobile device and other navigational techniques, to hide and seek containers called “geocaches.”

Salvation Army plans to send kids to camp
HAVERHILL — The Salvation Army in Haverhill is seeking donations to help fund a summer camp for children from Haverhill and Groveland.
The cost for a week of camp is $300 and the goal is to send 50 kids to the Salvation Army-accredited camp, which is run by The Salvation Army in Sharon.
Salvation Army Lt. Jeff Hardy said many deserving children cannot afford to pay and without help will lose this valuable experience. Donations small or large can be sent to: The Salvation Army, 395 Main St., Haverhill, MA 01830. More information is available from Hardy at 978-374-7571.
Make a toad abode or a fairy house
ATKINSON — Kids, design a container garden for a real or mythical creature at Kimball Library Thursday.
Children will use natural and manmade materials for the project.
There are two sessions, one at 4:30 p.m., one at 6:30 p,m. Both sessions are for children in kindergarten through fifth grade.

Kids, get into gardening in Hampstead
HAMPSTEAD — Kids are invited to Hampstead Public Library on Monday at 2 p.m. to do garden crafts.
Participants will make a soda bottle terrarium, design a butterfly, and create a mural with root vegetable printing.
Kids will also enjoy a snack picnic outside in the Storybook Garden.
