A mom working hard to better daughter's life

Marie is trying to do what’s right for her child. She moved to North Andover so her daughter could go to a better school. She’s working part time but is also looking for a full-time job. And this job hunt is time-consuming in itself.

Even with such a small family, Marie is finding it hard to make ends meet.

Marie thought she found some relief when her daughter brought home a letter from school that would have allowed them to get a little help for Christmas, but during her move to a new apartment, she misplaced the letter. By time she found it, the deadline had passed. It’s frustrating and a little heartbreaking, but now she has applied to the Santa Fund so that she and her daughter, who is 12, can celebrate even a modest Christmas.

This is what The Eagle-Tribune Santa Fund is all about. It’s a helping hand from one neighbor to another; a small gesture of support, so that more of us in the Merrimack Valley can celebrate the true meaning of the holiday together.
