Annual concert honors veterans in Plaistow

PLAISTOW — The Timberlane Community Band, in collaboration with Windham Community Band, will host a musical tribute honoring veterans at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Timberlane Performing Arts Center on Greenough Road.

The event will begin with an ROTC color guard and accompanying bagpiper. Local Boy Scouts will lead the pledge of allegiance. The keynote speaker will be Lt. Col. Patrick Testerman.

Admission is free and a wide range of homemade refreshments will be provided by the musicians.

Free yoga class

in Hampstead

HAMPSTEAD — Hampstead Public Library will hold a free chair yoga class tomorrow from 3 to 3:45 p.m.

The monthly class features non-impact exercises that are beneficial for men and women, teens and adults. Participants move at their own pace, sitting, standing, or using a chair for support.

The class is instructed by Maggie Morgan from The Yoga Room in Hampstead.

METHUEN — A Medicare 2013 informational talk is scheduled Wednesday at 1 p.m. at the Methuen Senior Activity Center, 77 Lowell St.

The talk will be presented by Susan Cripps of the ESMV SHINE program. Discussion will include plan changes for Medigap, Medicare Advantage and Part D Prescription Plan. Come learn what options are available to you.

Help for seniors

with fuel assistance

METHUEN — Representatives from the Greater Lawrence Community Action Council will be available at the Methuen Senior Activity Center on Friday, Nov. 9, from 9:30 to 11 a.m. to help seniors complete fuel assistance applications.

Workshop on products for historic homes is Nov. 16

HAVERHILL — The non-profit Historic New England, in association with the New England Chapter of the American Society of Interior Designers, will present a workshop titled “Walls and Windows: Reproduction Products for the Historic Home” Thursday Nov. 16 from 1 to 4 p.m. at 151 Essex St.
