The repairs include installing grab bars and ramps, smoke and carbon monoxide detectors and new windows; making electrical and plumbing repairs; and doing cleaning and yard work. Two special “Heroes at Home” projects will be sponsored by Sears/K-Mart to help local veterans in need.
Rebuilding Together Greater Haverhill is in its 21st year of helping low-income homeowners. April 27 is “National Rebuilding Together Day” across the country. Locally, as many as 200 volunteers will give their time and talents to improve and repair 15 homes in Greater Haverhill. These repairs and modifications will be completed at no cost to the homeowner. Rebuilding Together Greater Haverhill Inc. is a nonprofit organization.
Applicants seeking help with their homes must live in Greater Haverhill and be homeowners still living in their home. Household income must meet federal low-income guidelines for the area.
