Musical selections from the last 500 years will be performed by the Northern Essex Community College Chorus during the annual spring choir concert on May 5 at 2 p.m. in the Hartleb Technology Center on the Haverhill campus, 100 Elliott St.
Admission is $5.
The concert features music from Thomas Morley, the “Habanera” aria from the opera “Carmen’’ by George Bizet, “Spinning Song” from the opera “The Flying Dutchman’’ by Richard Wagner, and a contemporary arrangement of work by John Williams.
Chorus members include Bonnie Surowiec of Amesbury; Derek Charlesworth, Shayna Leavy, Lissangy Rodriguez and Dan Smith, all of Haverhill; Angilyne Bailey and Sergia Rosa, both of Lawrence; Heather Rydstrom of Windham; John Rodgers of Derry; NECC chorus director Alisa Bucchiere of West Newbury; Jillian Scaccia of Kittery, Maine; Summer LeCain of Andover; Rob Hamel of North Andover; Heather Trainor of Merrimac; Coty Markee of Byfield; and Amanda Clooney of Methuen.

Trivia Night to support education
The Haverhill Foundation for Excellence in Education will host its semi-annual Trivia Night on May 4 in the Galleria at Maria’s Family Restaurant, 81 Essex St.
Check-in begins at 6:30 p.m. The competition starts at 7 p.m. Entry fee is $25 per person. Teams of two to eight members are required to register and pay the entry fee in advance at www.HaverhillEducationFoundation.org or by calling 978-697-5620. First prize is $300, second prize $100 and third prize $50. A special Haverhill round offers a prize of $50.
The foundation is a volunteer, nonprofit organization which supports programs and projects in Haverhill public schools.
