Meetinghouse Park hosts free concert
HAMPSTEAD — The final Hampstead Meetinghouse Park free concert with the B-Siders will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 20 at 6 p.m.
Rain venue is the Hampstead Middle School, 28 School St. There will be a tribute to John Penny and a chance for concert-goers to take chances on a number of prizes, including a Dine-Around Hampstead package, Beyond Vanilla ice cream certificates, and DVDs of all the summer concert artists as well as a 50/50 raffle.
All proceeds will benefit the Liver Foundation in John Penny’s memory. Meetinghouse Park is located at the intersection of Emerson Avenue and Main Street (Route 121).

Former N.H. official, author gives Derry talk
DERRY — Former New Hampshire Bureau of Securities Regulation Director Mark Connolly will speak Tuesday, Aug. 20, at the Marion Gerrish Community Center.
Connolly, who resigned as director in 2011, will talk about his book, “Cover-Up’’ and the Ponzi scheme involving Financial Resource Mortgage Co.
The event, scheduled for 7 p.m., is hosted by the Derry Democrats. The group will hold its monthly meeting after Connolly’s talk.

Food, Wine and Beer Pairing event on tap
GEORGETOWN — Off to the Races, a Food, Wine and Beer Pairing to benefit Merrimack Valley Hospice will be held on Sept. 12 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Black Swan Country Club in Georgetown.
Guests will experience some of the world’s most famous places and races from the Alaskan Iditarod to the Monaco Grand Prix, along with accompanying cuisine and beverages and entertainment by the George Farrell Group and NuImage Entertainment. A signature silent auction will feature nearly 100 items including a well-stocked wine refrigerator, premium tickets to New England sporting events, unique dining experiences and more.
