Comedy Night benefit is Sept. 19

HAVERHILL — The first Matt Shirley Comedy Night will be held on Sept. 19 at the Roma Restaurant in Bradford and will feature Boston comics Bob Seibel, Dave Rattigan, Dave Russo, Tony Moschetto and Sal Votano, and Haverhill’s own Amy Tee.

Proceeds benefit Matt Shirley and his fight with Multiple Sclerosis. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. The show is at 8 p.m.

Shirley of Salisbury and formerly of Merrimac has multiple sclerosis and earlier this year missed several months of work while dealing with MS-related issues.

Seibel is a longtime New England headliner who also plays Las Vegas and Atlantic City. Russo is featured on NESN’s Dirty Water TV and nationally on the E! network show, “The Entertainer.” Moschetto was on Comedy Central. Votano appears regularly with Boston legend Lenny Clarke. Amy Tee has been featured in the movie “Laughing Matters: Next Gen.” Rattigan’s CD has received extensive radio play, and earlier this year, video from his act was featured on NickMom.com and ULive.com.

Shirley has worked for Rattigan’s company, Scamps Comedy Productions, which produces fundraising comedy shows and restaurant shows, and knows many of the comedians. He also has many friends from his job at Guitar Center in Danvers.

Tickets are $20 each and are available at the door, online at www.scampscomedy.com, or by calling Fred Cotter at 978-609-1245.
